Hi, I’m Maddie.
If you’re someone who overthinks everything, puts everyone else’s needs before your own, or somehow manages to say “I’m fine” while very much not being fine… you’re in the right place.
Maybe you’re navigating anxiety, relationship stress, family conflict, a breakup, grief, career changes, motherhood, a move, or another major life transition. Maybe life just looks a little different than you thought it would, and you’re trying to figure out where you fit into it all.
Or maybe you’ve gotten really good at holding everything together for everyone else and have realized, “Wait… when did I stop checking in with myself?”
I get it.

Hi! I’m Maddie, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
But before I’m a therapist, I’m a person.
I laugh. I cry. I overthink things. I love a good reality TV show. I have a very cute dog who occasionally believes she is also part of the therapy practice. I don't think you have to sit across from me and pretend to have everything figured out just because I have “LCSW” after my name.
In fact, please don't.
I want therapy to feel like a place where you can actually be yourself.
I’m a big believer that you shouldn't have to perform in therapy. You don't need to show up with the perfect words, a perfectly organized list of problems, or a five-year plan for your emotional growth. You can show up exactly as you are, even if that means saying, “I don't know what's wrong, I just know I'm overwhelmed.”
We'll figure it out together.

My approach is warm, collaborative, laid-back, and down-to-earth. I use evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while keeping our work practical and relevant to your actual life.
That means we might talk about the patterns you're noticing, the things you're avoiding, the boundaries you're struggling to set, or why you keep having the same argument in your head three hours after it happened.
We might laugh.
We might sit with something that's hard.
We might have an “aha” moment.
And sometimes, we might just need to take a breath and slow everything down.
Therapy isn't about me telling you how to live your life. You're the expert on you. My job is to walk alongside you, help you understand yourself a little better, challenge you when it might be helpful, and give you practical tools you can actually use outside of our sessions.
Because knowing what you should do and actually being able to do it are two very different things.

My clinical background has taken me through several different areas of social work, including child welfare, school settings, hospice care, and private practice.
Working in these spaces taught me just how different everyone's story can be. It also reinforced something I believe strongly: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.
My work with clients is person-centered, relational, and trauma-informed. I’m especially passionate about helping women navigate anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, boundaries, grief, and those seasons of life where you find yourself thinking:
“Okay… what am I doing now?”
You don't have to know the answer before you start therapy.

I'm probably doing something that makes it pretty obvious I'm not a particularly serious person outside of the therapy room.
I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, traveling, doing puzzles, crafting, and trying new restaurants because I consider myself a bit of a foodie.
I'm also a Bravo girl through and through, so yes, I have opinions about reality TV.
And then there's Millie.
Millie is my very cute dog and occasional unofficial coworker. She may make an appearance during a virtual session from time to time, usually without being asked.
I also love being outside, whether that's going for a walk, soaking up some sunshine, or just spending time somewhere that reminds me to slow down for a minute.
I share these things because I think they're important. You don't have to be a perfectly polished version of yourself in therapy, and neither do I.

You can expect me to genuinely listen.
You can expect us to laugh when it's appropriate.
You can expect honesty, encouragement, and a space where you don't have to worry about being judged.
You can expect me to help you notice patterns, understand where they're coming from, and figure out what you actually want moving forward.
And you can expect therapy to be a collaborative process.
You don't have to have a crisis to deserve support.
You don't have to wait until things are falling apart.
And you definitely don't have to have your entire life figured out before you reach out.
Sometimes you just know something isn't working anymore, and you're ready for something to change.
That's enough.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating. Maybe you've never been before. Maybe you've tried it and didn't feel like you connected with your therapist. Maybe you're worried your problems aren't “serious enough.”
I want you to know that you don't have to convince me that what you're going through matters.
If it's affecting you, it's worth talking about.
My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can take off some of the pressure, be honest about what you're experiencing, and start reconnecting with the person underneath all the expectations, responsibilities, and “shoulds.”
You don't have to figure everything out before you reach out.
You just have to take the first step.
If you're curious about whether we'd be a good fit, I'd love to connect. Schedule a FREE 15-minute consultation to tell me a little about what you're looking for, ask questions, and get a feel for whether therapy with me feels right for you.
